Ray Liotta died as a result of sudden heart failure.

The 67-year-old 'Goodfellas' star was discovered dead in his hotel room in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in May 2022, and officials in the nation have now allegedly verified his cause of death was respiratory insufficiency, pulmonary edoema, and abrupt cardiac failure.


According to the docs acquired by TMZ.com, Liotta's death was ruled "natural and nonviolent" and doctors discovered the actor had atherosclerosis, a condition where the arteries harden and can cause problems including heart attacks and strokes.

According to earlier accounts, Liotta passed away in his sleep while filming the movie "Dangerous Waters" alongside Eric Dane, Odeya Rush, and Saffron Burrows in the Dominican Republic. Later, his body was transported back to his
